AgHeritage Farm Credit Services Board of Directors

AgHeritage Farm Credit Services is a cooperative and is customer-owned. Customer-owners purchase voting stock giving them the right to participate in director elections and vote on issues influencing the operations of the association. The cooperative is governed by a 12-person board. Ten of the members are elected by customers and two are appointed by the board. Board terms are four years. The board generally meets monthly to set policy and give overall direction to the organization’s leadership.

Board Officers

Michael Taylor (Northern Region) - Bald Knob - Chairman
Michael farms grain sorghum, rice, soybeans, and wheat on 1,250 acres. Michael has been a board member since 2001. He serves on the board’s Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Human Resource Committee and Member Relations Committee. Michael also serves as Secretary Treasurer for the White County Farm Bureau Board and is Chairman of the Soybean Committee

Dwain Morris (Northern Region) – Pocahontas, Arkansas – Vice Chairman
Dwain farms corn, milo, rice, and soybeans on 500 acres. Dwain has been a board member since 1991. He serves on the ExecutivE Committee, Human Resources Committee and State Legislative Committee. Dwain also serves on the AgriBank District Farm Credit Council Board, the Randolph County Farm Bureau Board, and is a Pocahontas Airport Commissioner.

Russell Bonner (Central Region) - Brinkley, Arkansas
Russell farms corn, cotton, rice, and soybeans on 5,200 acres. Russell has been a board member since 2006. He serves on the Executive Committee and is the Finance Committee Chair. Russell also serves on the New People’s Gin Company Board and the Monroe County Farm Bureau Board.
Jerry Burkett (Central Region) – Stuttgart, Arkansas
In addition to 130 acres of timber, Jerry farms oats, rice, soybeans and wheat on 1,320 acres. Jerry has been a board member since 2002. He serves on the Audit Committee and Finance Committee. Jerry also serves on the Board of Advanced Environmental Recycling Technology, Arkansas County Farm Bureau Board, and is a member of Yoder Ruritan Club.

Mike Burkett ( Northern Region) – McCrory, Arkansas
Mike farms corn, rice, soybeans, and wheat on 3,320 acres. Mike has been a board member since 2006. He serves on the Human Resources Committee. Mike also serves on the Woodruff County Farm Bureau Board and the Woodruff County Farm Service Agency Committee.

Chuck Culver (Outside Director) – Fayetteville, Arkansas
Chuck has served as an outside director since 1992. He serves as Chairman of the Member Relations Committee. Chuck is the Director of Development for the Division of Agriculture at the University of Arkansas. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the University of Arkansas Wesley Foundation, which is a United Methodist campus ministry. Chuck is an officer of the North Fayetteville Camp of Gideons International and a member and past President of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville.

Clay Schaefer (Central Region) – Hunter, Arkansas
Clay farms rice and soybeans on 726 acres owned and 3,974 acres rented. He is a member of the Tri-County Farmers Association Board, currently serves as President of the Woodruff County Farm Bureau Board, and is past Vice President of the Three County Fair Board. Clay has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences with a minor in Plant Protection and Pest Management from the University of Arkansas.
Keith Watkins (Central Region) – Griffithville, Arkansas
Keith farms rice, soybeans, and wheat on 3,615 acres. Keith also has a cow calf operation. Keith was elected to the board in 2008 and serves on the Finance Committee. Keith is on the Riceland Foods Inc. Board, White County Farm Bureau Board, the Little Red River Irrigation District Board, the Griffithville Grain Dryer Advisory Board, and is the former chairman of the Southeast White County Water Association Board.
Mike Ellis (Northern Region) – Pocahontas, Arkansas
Mike farms corn, rice, soybeans, and wheat on 2,800 acres. Mike has been a board member since 2007. He serves on the board’s Finance Committee. Mike is also a director and past President of the Randolph County Conservation District.
Olan Mencer (Southern Region) – Lake Village, Arkansas
Olan farms corn, cotton, oats, rice, soybeans, wheat, and 350 head of cattle on 2,000 acres. Olan has been a board member since 1987. He serves on the Executive Committee and is Chairman of the Human Resources Committee. Olan is also past Chairman of the Chicot County Farm Service Agency and serves on the Farmers Grain Terminal Board.

Thomas McKennon “Ken” Shea (Southern Region) – Dumas, Arkansas
Ken is President and General Manager of McKennon Implement Company in McGehee. Ken has been a board member since 1993. He serves on the Member Relations Committee and the Audit Committee. Ken also serves on the Southeast Arkansas Levee Board, Dumas Airport Commission, Desha County Drainage District Board, and is Chairman of the Dumas Economic Development Committee.
Terry Richardson (Outside Director) – Stuttgart, Arkansas
Terry has served as an outside director since 1991. He serves on the Executive Committee and is Chair of the Audit Committee. Terry is Vice President of Administration and Secretary of Riceland Foods. He also serves on the Advisory Board of FM Global Insurance Company.

Southern Region consists of the following counties: Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Jefferson and Lincoln. Nominees for two director positions will come from the Southern Region.

Central Region consists of the following counties: Arkansas, Lonoke, Monroe, Prairie, Pulaski and Woodruff. Nominees for four director positions will come from the Central Region.

Northern Region consists of the following counties: Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, Sharp, Stone and White. Nominees for four director positions will come from the Northern Region.
